Herzog, Yitzhak

(1960- )
   Israel Labor Party member of the Knesset, first elected to the 16th Knesset in 2003 and appointed minister of housing and construction on 10 January 2005. He was the scion of one of Israel's most influential political families, the son of Chaim Herzog and grandson of Rabbi Isaac Halevi Herzog. He was second on the Labor Party list of candidates for the 2006 election (see KNESSET ELECTIONS) and was appointed minister of tourism in the May 2006 Ehud Olmert government. He was appointed social affairs minister on 21 February 2007.
